PMQ on Glenfield’s children’s heart surgery unit

[02/07/2010 | No comment]

This week I asked my first Prime Minister’s Question about the future of the paediatric cardiac unit at Glenfield Hospital. The unit provides outstanding care, not only in terms of the quality of surgery but also the excellent nursing, after care and facilities and support for parents.

The Government is currently reviewing the future of children’s heart surgery in England to make sure every child gets the best possible treatment. I asked the Prime Minister to ensure all aspects of care are fully considered by the review and to visit Glenfield to see for himself the excellent quality of care the children’s heart surgery unit provides. You can watch David Cameron’s answer here (my question is at 12.21pm) or read it in Hansard here.
