Improving cancer care
With a rising number of cases of cancer, at some point it will touch all of our lives.
We need to raise awareness of the symptoms of cancer the public and GPs, provide better support to patients as they go through treatment, and make sure that those who have recovered can cope with life after cancer. And for those who can’t be cured, we need to ensure they have real choice and control over their last days of life.
I’m very concerned that the Government’s backroom NHS reorganisation has made it much harder to make the changes cancer patients and their families need.
