Liz backs Whizz-kidz campaign

[02/08/2012 | No comment]

Whizz-kidz is a brilliant charity that helps give disabled children more independent lives, including by providing wheelchairs and other mobility equipment.

I recently went to see our local Whizzkidz group at Beaumont Leys School. The young people I met told me about their ‘Be Aware, Don’t Stare’ campaign, showing me a video and singing a great song explaining how they feel when people stare or treat them differently.

It’s really important to change public attitudes towards disabled people, and I will be helping Whizzkidz take forward their campaign here in Leicester and hopefully nationally too.
