Liz speaks at NICE annual conference

[15/05/2014 | No comment]

On Wednesday 14 May I gave a speech at the annual conference of the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence where I set out “Five lessons for reforming the NHS and social care”.

These are that we the need to focus on changing services, not structures; how we pay for care really matters; you can’t separate the quality of services from the staff that provide them; openness and transparency must be hardwired into the system; and that individuals and communities must be given far more power, say and control.
